MID SUMMER EVENT

Details for the Day

On the Day

The event starts at 2:30pm, please arrive in good time the first teams will be out on the treasure hunt course by 2:45pm.

Teams for the day

You will be drawn in teams of 4 or 5 depending on numbers, to tackle the Torre Abbey Treasure Hunt and the 6-rink Challenge. The combined score of your Team Treasure hunt and your individual 6 rink challenge will be combined to determine the winning team of the day.

Some teams will start on the Torre Abbey Treasure Hunt and others on the 6 Rink Challenge - the BBQ will be underway by 4pm, so by the time you're back you will be able to sit down and relax with food and a drink.

Prizes winners - scores will be tallied and announced by 6pm.

A full schedule of timings will be in the club on the day.

Bad weather - do we dare mention the possibility of rain - well if this eventuality does happen, we will eat indoors, if it looks like rain, bring a coat, a brolly or your best rain hat, and a good dose of English gumption as we'll be carrying on whatever.

Payment - We are buying sufficient food to cover everyone who has registered to attend, so we will be happy to receive payment on the day as you arrive.

When you arrive

You will check in at our registration table and will be given your food voucher and team token. You will meet your team at the team location, shown at registration. Once all your team is present you will select a start time for your team on the Bowls Challenge and Torre Abbey Treasure Hunt. So you will know where you need to be by when.

Bowling Challenge

Each rink will have made available two sets of woods, small and larger - that's it folks - everything else is down to your versatility. We will count the best 4 scores and for teams of 5 you may average your best 4 scores if you choose. Gerry has devised some wonderful challenges - Good Luck!

Torre Abbey Treasure Hunt

You will have a set of questions - and as a team you will need to establish the best answers, you can nominate some of your team to complete this if you don’t fancy walking or all go together. The choice is yours. But your answers combined with your Bowling Challenge will be tallied at the end of the day.
