Welcome to Torquay Bowling Club
I am very sad to have to report that David Beaven has passed away. He has been in a care home for several months and recently his health has been deteriorating. David was for many years the Results and Fixtures Secretary for the MDL and did an excellent job. Our condolences go to his family. The funeral arrangements are;
Tuesday 23 July at 4:15 pm at the Torquay Crematorium followed by a get together at the Cockhaven, Bishopsteignton.
As we get older we seem to get prouder of our age. This is also true of the Club and this year we are very proud to be celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Club’s founding. No, there aren’t any founding members on the committee. What we do have is a combined Captain’s Day and 130th Anniversary Day on Saturday 20th July. Notices and availability sheets are up in the club. Non-playing members are welcome to attend and enjoy the free buffet, just let the caterers know.
